Tell us about yourself.

As I mentioned, Vijay Engineers is a family-owned business and has been one of the leading manufacturers of fasteners, scaffolding fittings, hand tools and other hardware. We manufacture, design and specialise in a vast range of products as per customer design. Today, I am part of this business.

I understand what you also studied at Apeejay College of Fine Arts.

Yes, I did. Once you have been part of Apeejay School it is a normal transition to study at ACFA It was more about going with the flow. When everything is going right, there’s no point in changing the school.

Share how your time at Apeejay School shaped your personal and professional journey.

The school taught us discipline. We used to tie our ties every morning and wear our blazers. But during the day, we would take them off. I remember our Principal, back then reminding us not to remove our ties, saying we’d remember these days when we grew up. The school built our confidence and taught us to face competition head-on.

Do you have a specific memory from school that you cherish?

Since I was at the school for such a long time, there are bound to be several. But the one that stands out is walking on the stage and receiving a memento for being the top scorer in Economics in class XII is a memory I cherish the most.

How did Apeejay School’s emphasis on holistic development and discipline impact your life?

Discipline has been integral from nursery to graduation. Even now, when I visit the school to drop off my kid, I see the same discipline. It helped me balance family, friends, and work.

How did the school environment fuel your ambitions?

By the time you finish class X, you realise your strengths. I excelled in Economics, and this interest continued. Today, I am active in the stock market, which aligns with my profession and hobby. The lessons in economics and business management I learnt at this school have played a crucial role in running and growing the enterprise.

Any personal or professional achievement you attribute to the school?

The greatest achievement is being surrounded by a good family and friends I made at Apeejay School. Even though some friends moved abroad, they came back, and we are still close.

Your daughter also studies at Apeejay School. Why did you choose this branch for her?

Every father wants their child to have a unique personality. I trust Apeejay School to polish her skills. From the feedback I receive from her mother and teachers, she is a bright child in good hands.

What advice would you give current Apeejay School students on making the most of their school years?

Cherish every moment. Don’t be into books all the time. Developing an overall personality is more important than just becoming a topper. Participate in extracurricular activities, build strong friendships, and pursue your interests passionately. That’s what every parent hopes for their child.
