Undoubtedly, there is an evolution of social media. It is also true that social media platforms are dominating the online space, and their influence on society is growing. And so, organisations, big or small, are leveraging social media platforms for brand building as these allow them to connect with their target audience. This is also leading to a rising demand for professionals, who understand how to design engaging and visually appealing content specifically tailored for social media platforms. Social media design skills are highly sought after by companies and organisations across various industries. And therefore, aspirants having knowledge of social media design can gain a competitive edge. There will be more exciting opportunities available for them. So pursuing a social media design course will help young minds learn how to create a cohesive and visually appealing online presence that reflects the identity of the brand or organisation they are a part of.

Thus, understanding the value of the above-mentioned, Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, organised a 3-week Certificate course on Social Media Design.  The free of cost programme was especially designed for students of class 12.

In these classes, Mr. Vikram and Ms. Rachita Jain taught the students about designing posts for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media sites. Also, the students learnt about the design aesthetics, creating a page for their business and using these sites for promotion. They were also acquainted with the basics of Adobe Photoshop which is a crucial software for editing.

Sharing her views, Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal at ACFA, said, “The concurrent age is ruled by technology and to master the various ways and techniques, which the internet has to offer today plays an important role. Social media is a platform which is accessible by everyone and one can use it for their benefits and also it is the cheapest platform to promote the business.”
