Here’s how to nurture a culture of healthy dietary habits

Healthy food plays a crucial role in promoting overall well-being and improving the quality of life for a student. It means including essential nutrients to the diet like vitamins, minerals, fibre and carbohydrates. Therefore, to ensure a child’s fitness, parents must provide them with a balanced diet.
Such a diet facilitates an increase in nutritional intake. It is wholesome which means it consists of all the nutrients which is good for health. Also, it makes one strong enough to deal with all the challenges of life. So, it is recommended that everyone should consume food slowly for proper digestion.

Besides, one should also make a proper schedule for eating meals at specific time gaps. It is advisable not to consume snacks right before dinner or lunch, as this may limit the capacity to partake in a healthy diet. Besides, all must drink at least two glasses of milk daily to make bones and body strong.
Both children and adults can make a habit of eating five to six almonds every morning. Add cucumber, carrot, apple and oranges to the diet as these food items are rich in fibre which helps in digestion and excretion of waste from the body.
Finally, no one should eat junk food because it can cause diseases such as obesity and diabetes. If a parent is not attentive then the child may eat anything that is hazardous to his/her health and may cause many illnesses. So, we should remember to inculcate healthy eating. Parents can be role models for a child to develop healthy eating habits.
