‘Happy with my daughter’s progress’

Every parent dreams that their children study at the best school the city has to offer. For this, they go to great lengths – from doing extensive online searches and reading reviews to looking for personal recommendations from family and friends. They also look at the brand value, calibre of the teachers, and the education the school imparts.

“For me, getting my daughter Mishika, who is now in class I at Apeejay School, Model Town, admitted in the top schools of the city was of prime importance. She earlier studied at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld. I want my daughter to have an edge over her peers. With so much competition, every little thing counts,” Hitesh Sabharwal said, who works with a national bank.

In an impromptu interview, the father talks about his daughter’s academic progress among other things.

How did you end up choosing Apeejay?

I did a lot of research and took recommendations from family and friends. I also looked at other schools and found that Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld offered something that I had not seen in other schools. The way that this school grooms and teaches its students is far superior compared to other schools. My daughter used to study at another school. But I shifted schools when she was in KG.

Why did you want a school that offered holistic development?

It is very important for the child to have knowledge of things around them besides academics. A holistic development not only gives the child an edge over peers but it makes him/her hone skills right from the beginning. My daughter is intelligent and this school provides her an outlet to explore her talent through co-curricular activities.

How has her learning curve been?

She is doing very well in her class. In this last one year alone I have seen a marked improvement in her. She has become well-mannered and well-groomed. Her academic performance is good as well. I can already see how her talent is coming to the fore.

How was the admission process?

The best part was that there were no complications. The entire process was smooth and easy. We filled out the necessary paper-work and attached the documents required. It was plain sailing for us.

How are the teachers?

They are excellent. All through – in KG and now class I – the teachers have been extremely supportive. This year, her class is Nikita ma’am and she is very good.

How important is it for parents and teachers to be in sync?

This is very important for the betterment of the child’s education. You can’t afford to give your child conflicting views. So the parents and the teachers have to be on the same page and impart the same values. For example, if traditions and culture are important for the parent, the school must also imbibe the same values.

How is the teaching methodology?

The good part is that it is not just limited to academic learning. The school also teaches using fun methodology. I can already see the improvement in her. Her reading and writing skills have enhanced. I am happy.

Does she participate in school activities?

Yes. In fact all of them. She really enjoys that. She loves to play games as well, especially once she is back home. After completing her school work, she gets down to solving puzzles appropriate for kids her age.
