A student might forget to learn once s/he is out of the educational framework. But a teacher never stops learning, unlearning and updating themselves to be able to impart knowledge till the last breath. Apeejay School, Noida has always valued their teachers and supported them at every walk of life. The school recently organised a workshop titled ‘Power of unlearning’ for the teachers.

The resource person for the day was Ms. Upasna Kaura from The Hindustan Times. It was an interactive session, where teachers were involved throughout various entertaining activities. Ms Kaura spoke about the importance of unlearning as it helps one to evolve and keep pace with the changing times.

The session was informative and useful for all the teachers who enjoyed the crisp yet knowledgeable powerpoint presentation. Speaking about the session Mrs Shreya Chattopadhyay, a PGT English teacher, mentioned, “If someone thinks that learning is tough, then I must tell them that unlearning is tougher. It is tougher to break out of shells that we have so far believed protect us. Learning gives you potential, but knowing what to unlearn gives you the kinetics. I take back great learnings from this workshop and feel very happy to be a part of it.”

Another PGT English teacher Ms Neena Agarwal said, “The best of education consists of unlearning. And so, the breaking of bad habits is important as that will help us, teachers, to evolve. The session was indeed an eye-opener and I learnt a lot from this.”
