Recently, Apeejay Svran Global SchoolFaridabad, Sector 21 D, organised a series of activity-based sessions for young learners, focusing on Personal Hygiene-Keep Clean, Be Healthy and early reading habits on World Book Day. The initiative was planned to connect everyday life skills with classroom learning in a structured yet engaging way.

The personal hygiene session centred on helping children understand the importance of cleanliness through practical activities. Students participated in guided demonstrations that explained correct brushing techniques using visual models. This allowed them to see and understand the process step by step.

Another segment focused on handwashing, where children were shown simple steps to clean their hands effectively. The activity encouraged repetition and observation, helping students connect the routine with its purpose. Alongside this, colouring tasks based on hygiene themes allowed them to express what they had learned in a creative way.

Students remained actively involved throughout the session. Their participation reflected both curiosity and a growing awareness of daily habits that support health and well-being.

Encouraging early engagement with books

The World Book Day session brought a different kind of engagement into the classroom. The focus remained on helping children become familiar with books through guided reading and storytelling activities. Students explored illustrated books at their own pace, turning pages and observing details with attention.

Group storytelling formed another part of the session, where students listened closely in a shared setting. This encouraged focus and quiet engagement. As part of the activity, children also created and presented small book-based works, reflecting their understanding through simple expression.

The combined sessions highlighted the value of learning through doing. By linking concepts like hygiene and reading with everyday experiences, the school reinforced habits that extend beyond the classroom.
