As part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri organised a vibrant and educational programme, “A Glimpse of India”, for the Primary Wing. Presented enthusiastically by the students of Class III, the programme celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage and highlighted the beauty of its unity in diversity.

The event began with a warm welcome and an introduction emphasising India’s diverse languages, traditions, costumes, cuisines and festivals. Dressed in colourful traditional attire, the young participants represented different states and confidently shared fascinating facts about their culture, heritage, monuments, festivals, folk dances and traditional delicacies.

The audience was captivated by the students’ impressive confidence, expressive narration and lively stage presence. Representing states including Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kerala, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Haryana, among others, the children transformed the school auditorium into a vibrant miniature India. Their presentation beautifully showcased how every region contributes its unique identity to the nation’s cultural tapestry.

Adding an informative dimension to the celebration, a documentary on India’s remarkable journey was also screened. It offered students insights into the country’s glorious past, geographical diversity, scientific achievements, and cultural legacy, while highlighting the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. The documentary also reinforced the importance of national integration and responsible citizenship.

The programme successfully blended education with celebration, enabling students to learn about India’s diverse heritage in an engaging and enjoyable manner. Teachers appreciated the dedication, teamwork and preparation demonstrated by the young participants.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Vineet Vasishtha applauded the students for their enthusiastic participation and appreciated the efforts of the teachers. He emphasised that India’s greatest strength lies in its unity despite its diversity and encouraged students to respect every culture, language and tradition.  “A Glimpse of India by our Class III students beautifully celebrated the cultural richness and unity of our nation. The state presentations and informative documentary inspired our young learners to appreciate India’s heritage and diversity. I congratulate the students and teachers for their dedicated efforts. Let us continue to nurture patriotism, respect for all cultures, and the values of unity, harmony, and responsible citizenship in every child.”

The celebration concluded on a patriotic note, leaving students with a deeper appreciation of India’s glorious heritage and a renewed sense of national pride.
