The pandemic has been the most difficult time for primary students. To stay focused, be involved in activities and steadily learn amidst so many distractions at home was tough. Oftentimes, young parents too grappled with the pressure to manage their work schedules at home and stay connected with their little ones during Covid-19. Thankfully, teachers at school made it easy for them. How? By being available for them even after school hours.

At the graduation ceremony of kindergarten students at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, parents, students and teachers gathered to celebrate this passion and determination, as they promised to strive for academic and co-curricular success. The ‘little ones’ looked back at their journey with pride and marked the beginning of their formal school. They were dressed in smart graduation robes and caps, marching in a row, as the Class I students welcomed them in the school.

The ceremony began by evoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Then, the school Principal, Dr. Sarita Pande, congratulated and blessed the students. In her address, she said, “Graduation is not the end. It is the beginning!”

Shortly, kindergarten students performed songs and dance, remembering their school motto, ‘Soaring high is my nature.’ Their energy and vibrancy enthralled the audience as they all joined to ‘celebrate the spirit of learning’. Ms. Shweta Venaik, mother of student Advik Soni says, “I have witnessed tremendous growth in my son since his association with Apeejay. I felt proud as a parent seeing my son graduating at the ceremony. Teachers have been very supportive throughout the Covid period.” Ms. Bidisha Mukherjee, mother of student Avnish Mukherjee says, “The teachers and Principal Ma’am at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida are very cordial. At the event, they made us feel so warm and welcome.”

The programme concluded with performances by Class I students. Some parents also rose to the occasion to express their gratitude towards the teachers and Apeejay management, on how they encouraged students to learn in these two years. They highlighted that the online lessons were carried forward smoothly and teachers took exceptional care of students, socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.

The Principal thanked the parents for their support, expressing that every child is unique and has a talent of their own. “Apeejay, therefore, works towards nurturing them, so that they achieve their potential.” The programme ended with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by class I students.
