The third day of the Gyan Sudha In-Service Teacher Training Programme held at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, unfolded with renewed energy, inspiration, and a clear focus on enriching pedagogical practices. Designed to upskill educators and foster a deeper understanding of effective classroom strategies, the day’s sessions resonated with both heart and mind.
The day commenced with a thought-provoking session by Ms Nishu Airy, TGT Economics, on Strengthening Assessment and Evaluation Practices. Her session focused on redefining assessment methodologies to ensure fairness, inclusivity, and relevance in today’s classrooms. She highlighted the need for student-centric evaluations that not only measure learning outcomes but also foster critical thinking and creativity. Through practical examples and interactive discussions, Ms Airy shed light on making assessment a meaningful part of the teaching-learning process.

Adding an emotional and reflective dimension to the day, Ms Arti Walia, a dedicated Pre-primary educator, conducted a deeply engaging session titled Happy Teachers, Happy Classrooms. She emphasised the significance of teacher well-being in shaping positive learning environments. With warmth and relatability, she encouraged her fellow educators to prioritise self-care, find joy in small classroom moments, and build emotionally supportive spaces for their students. Her message was clear: When teachers are happy and balanced, classrooms automatically become nurturing and dynamic.
In a creatively vibrant workshop, Ms Parminderjeet Kaur, TGT Punjabi, brought storytelling to the forefront with her session on Storytelling as a Pedagogical Tool. With enthusiasm and flair, she demonstrated how stories could be used to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and make abstract concepts more relatable. Her workshop underscored storytelling as a powerful means of connecting with students, making lessons more memorable, and enhancing language and listening skills.

The sessions were further enriched by the gracious presence of School Principal Mr AK Sharma and Vice-principal Ms Loveleen Bagga, who offered thoughtful feedback and constant encouragement. Their active involvement reaffirmed the school’s commitment to holistic professional development.
Day 3 of Gyan Sudha was a perfect blend of intellect, emotion, and creativity. It not only empowered educators with new tools and perspectives but also reinforced the belief that joyful, reflective teachers create transformative learning experiences. With each passing day, the program continues to lay the foundation for a more responsive, resilient, and effective teaching community.
