The IT Club of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, organised an insightful workshop on “Agentic AI”.  The session introduced students to the rapidly evolving landscape of next-generation artificial intelligence and its growing applications across industries.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Chief Technology Officer of O7 Services, who shared valuable industry insights and provided students with a practical understanding of modern AI technologies. Through an engaging and interactive session, he explained how artificial intelligence is transforming various sectors and creating new opportunities for aspiring technology professionals.

During the session, students were introduced to Google Colab, a powerful cloud-based platform widely used for coding, experimentation, and collaborative data science projects. Mr. Sharma explained how the platform enables developers and learners to write and execute Python code efficiently without requiring high-end computing resources. This hands-on introduction helped students understand how such tools support innovation and experimentation in the field of artificial intelligence.

The workshop also focused on the role of Python libraries such as NumPy and Pandas, which are essential tools in data analysis and machine learning. Mr. Sharma demonstrated how these libraries are used to process large datasets, perform complex calculations, and build predictive models. The explanation of these tools helped students appreciate the technical foundation required for developing intelligent systems.

In addition, the expert introduced students to key Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts, including supervised learning and unsupervised learning. He explained how these techniques allow machines to analyse patterns in data and make predictions. To make the concepts more relatable, Mr. Sharma shared examples of real-world applications where predictive models are used in sectors such as finance and healthcare, highlighting AI’s growing relevance in solving complex problems.

The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer interaction, where students actively participated by sharing their queries and ideas. The discussion encouraged them to explore the possibilities of AI and inspired many to consider pursuing deeper knowledge in this rapidly expanding field.

Appreciating the initiative, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, emphasised the importance of organising industry-oriented learning opportunities for students. He highlighted that such sessions play a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world technological developments, thereby preparing students for future advancements in the digital era.

The workshop was successfully coordinated by Ms. Guneet Kaur and Ms. PreetKamal Kaur, whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the event. The session proved to be a highly enriching experience, offering students valuable exposure to emerging AI technologies and motivating them to explore the vast potential of the artificial intelligence ecosystem.
