Earth Day at Apeejay School, Kharghar, was observed with a morning assembly that focused on awareness, responsibility, and everyday action. The programme brought students together to reflect on their role in protecting the environment. It also reinforced the idea that sustainability begins with small, consistent choices.
The assembly opened with a calm prayer that set a reflective tone for the morning. This was followed by the Earth Day Pledge, where students collectively committed to protecting and preserving the planet. The moment carried a quiet seriousness, reminding everyone present that environmental responsibility is not limited to a single day.
A student-led poem on nature added depth to the programme. It spoke about balance, care, and coexistence with the natural world. The simplicity of the message made it easy to connect with while also underlining the urgency of the issue.

The highlight of the assembly was the address by the school Principal, Dr Sonali V Balwatkar. She spoke about the need to adopt sustainable habits in daily life and encouraged students to take responsibility as aware and active citizens. Her message linked individual actions to larger environmental outcomes, helping students see the impact of their choices.
The programme concluded with a clear takeaway. Environmental care is not a one-day effort but an ongoing commitment. Activities like these help students move from awareness to action, shaping habits that extend beyond the school campus.
Such engagements play an important role in building a generation that understands sustainability not as an abstract idea, but as a practical and necessary way of life.
