ELAAN 2026: Apeejay Stya University Hosts Grand Inter-University Sports and Cultural Fest

Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, successfully organised its Annual Inter-University Sports and Cultural Fest ELAAN 2026. The two-day celebration brought together enthusiastic participation from students representing 13 institutions, creating a lively platform to showcase talent, creativity, and sportsmanship. The event witnessed energetic engagement from students, faculty members, and guests, making it a memorable experience for all participants.

The fest was thoughtfully structured, with the first day dedicated to sports competitions and the second day celebrating cultural activities. Day one saw the participation of 312 students competing across a variety of sports disciplines. The sports segment was inaugurated by the Registrar, Dr. Pardeep Kumar, who encouraged participants to demonstrate teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition throughout the events.

Several universities delivered impressive performances across different sports categories. BML Munjal University emerged as the winner in Volleyball, while the host institution, Apeejay Stya University, secured the runner-up position. In Table Tennis, GD Goenka University won the Boys’ Singles category, while Hansraj College claimed the Girls’ Singles title. The Doubles category saw a joint victory by GD Goenka University and Hansraj College, with K.R. Mangalam University finishing as runner-up in the respective events.

Apeejay Stya University dominated the Cricket tournament, with its teams ASU-A and ASU-B securing the winner and runner-up positions respectively. In Badminton, Apeejay Stya University won the Girls’ Singles title, while SGT University secured victory in the Boys’ Singles category. The NorthCap University won the Boys’ Doubles event, with runner-up positions going to Apeejay Stya University and K.R. Mangalam University. The Football championship was won by K.R. Mangalam University, while SGT University clinched both the Girls’ and Men’s Basketball finals. The first day concluded on a high note, reflecting exceptional sportsmanship and enthusiasm among the participants.

The second day of ELAAN 2026 celebrated creativity and artistic talent through a series of cultural competitions. The cultural segment commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, and distinguished guests. Prof. Sanjay Ahirwal highlighted the significance of ELAAN in nurturing creativity and promoting holistic development among students. The event was formally inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Vijay Vir Singh, who encouraged students to showcase their talents with confidence. A motivational message from the Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Neha Berlia, further inspired participants to strive for excellence.

The cultural competitions witnessed participation from over 222 students representing various universities. Dakshika Sharma from the School of Engineering & Technology at Apeejay Stya University secured first place in Mehendi, followed by Kajal Shukla and Simran Kumari. In Rangoli, Sushmita Chauhan won the first prize, with Hema Yadav and Shahina Praveen finishing second and third respectively.

The Photography Competition was won by Pranav Jha, followed by Ananya Awasthi, while the third position was jointly awarded to Atharva Sharma and the team of Shalu and Ram Kishan. Rashid Anwar secured first place in the Open Mic Competition, followed by Keshvi Priya Sinha and Kajal Shukla.

Amishi Agarwal from GD Goenka University won the Poster Making Competition, while Hritika from Apeejay Stya University topped Cartooning. In the performing arts segment, Ananya from K.R. Mangalam University won Solo Singing, while Harsh Chaudhary and Gulshan secured top honours in Solo Dance.

One of the major highlights of the fest was the Group Dance Competition, where Ramanujan College, Delhi University, secured first place, followed by OXE Dance Academy, while Apeejay Stya University claimed the third position.

The event concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony celebrating the achievements of all participants. ELAAN 2026 proved to be a grand success, promoting creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange while strengthening the spirit of unity and excellence among students from diverse institutions
