To celebrate Children’s Day, Apeejay School, Rama Mandir, Jalandhar, organised ‘Funky Fest 2021’ for its students on November 12. At the fun-filled event that was held at the school auditorium, children participated in various exciting activities.

The day began with the morning assembly, in which students took part in a warm-up exercise session. Following this, they enjoyed some special performances by their favourite teachers. From poems to songs and speech, the teachers prepared a detailed programme for the students.

Later, the children also enjoyed different games and an interesting storytelling session. They brought ‘party tiffin’ from home.

The school’s principal, Sangeeta Nistandra, held an interactive session with the students. She spoke to them about mental well-being. “Keeping your mind in good shape is as important as keeping your body in shape,” she said. She gave them a basic idea about mental health issues and how it is associated with one’s overall well-being, encouraging them to imbibe best practices to maintain a positive mental health, highlighting the importance of understanding one’s feelings, self-esteem, and so on.

Children’s Day is celebrated on November 14 every year to raise awareness about children’s education. It is also celebrated to pay tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru or Chacha Nehru as he was popularly known among children.
