“Diwali marks the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, but it also is a day of service and generosity to fellow human beings.”
The festival symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. The lights of Diwali signify a time to destroy all evil and give us the strength and the zeal to carry on with our goodwill for the rest of the year.
Taking these thoughts forward, students of classes Nursery-V of Apeejay School, Noida, celebrated the festival with gaiety and cheer in the virtual mode on November 1. A special assembly was also conducted in the multipurpose hall for students of classes 1-5 on November 2.
The assembly began with a talk, thought and videos imparting knowledge about the festival of lights. The students also enjoyed the dance videos resplendent in the glory of “Deepotsav,” worshipping the goddess of wealth and good fortune.
Students participated in a plethora of activities and promoted the idea of celebrating the festival in an environmentally sustainable and pollution-free manner.
They also wrote slogans and created posters on the theme: Say No To Crackers. Students also had discussions on sustainability, social responsibility and civic skills.
Students of Apeejay School, Noida, also took out a rally with placards highlighting the importance of a green, eco-friendly Diwali that aims to make a difference to stem the deterioration of the environment.
Mr. AK Sharma, Principal, Apeejay School, Noida addressed the students to convey warm wishes for the Diwali. He said that “Diwali is a time for togetherness and celebrations. This festival illuminates the country with its brilliance and dazzles people with its joyous celebration”. He also reinstated the importance of celebrating a cracker-free and eco-friendly Diwali.
Primary In-charge, Ms. Smriti Samuel, also reiterated the importance of creating an environment of goodwill and happiness in the festive season.
