Apeejay School, Noida, recently hosted its much-anticipated Inter-House Yoga Competition for students of Classes VII and VIII recently. The event was a vibrant celebration of physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy competition among the young learners, emphasising the importance of yoga as a holistic practice for body and mind.
The competition drew keen participation from all four houses, with students demonstrating remarkable strength, flexibility, and discipline through well-coordinated yoga sequences. Each group performed to a variety of music genres, creating an engaging and dynamic atmosphere that highlighted the harmony between movement and rhythm. The energy and enthusiasm displayed on stage were a testament to weeks of dedicated practice and preparation.

Esteemed judges graced the event with their presence, lending expertise and encouragement. Ms. Priyanka Jain, a respected parent and experienced yoga instructor, brought her rich knowledge of Yoga Anatomy, Patanjali Yogasutra, and Yoga Science and Wellness to the judging panel. Her insights helped appreciate the technical precision and mindful execution of the participants.

Joining her was Ms. Morvi Bhandula, a proud alumna of Apeejay School and an accomplished yoga competitor. Ms. Bhandula’s impressive credentials include national-level yoga competitions from 2014 to 2017, a runner-up position at the 2015 Meerut Commissionary Championship, and participation in the historic First International Yoga Day celebrations at Rajpath, New Delhi, in the presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Her journey inspired the young yogis to pursue excellence with passion and dedication.
The competition was conducted in the encouraging presence of School Principal Dr. Neha Sharma and Vice Principal Ms. Puneeta Bhasin, who applauded the students’ efforts and reinforced the school’s commitment to promoting health and mindfulness among learners.

The final results declared Nehru House as the champions, followed by Radha Krishnan House securing the second position and Gandhi House coming third. However, beyond rankings, the event was a resounding success in fostering a collective spirit of participation, teamwork, and wellness. The competition underscored the value of yoga not just as a physical exercise but as a means to develop concentration, balance, and inner peace—skills that will benefit students throughout their lives.
