Mothers should be celebrated every day. Mother’s Day, however, is one special occasion that serves as a reminder of their invaluable contribution to our lives. To mark the day, Apeejay schools organised some special activities through which students expressed their gratitude to their mothers.

At Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, mothers of the pre-primary wing students were invited to the school to partake in fun-filled activities. The day began with the lighting of the lamp. Students dedicated special songs and dances to the mothers. What left them emotional was a special movie featuring a song by the little ones along with a special message. A ramp walk was organised where mothers had to twin with their children and the winner was awarded by school principal Dr Sarita Pande. Later, she also addressed the gathering and spoke about the crucial role of a mother in her child’s life.

In Jalandhar, Apeejay School Model Town also welcomed mothers to spend an eventful day with their kids. Display boards were set up based on the theme of the day to showcase the students’ talent. The audience was treated to delightful performances by mothers and their children. Students also recited poems, performed songs and dances, and even enacted stories. The students of the junior section made “cards of love” for their mothers. Principal Sinia Sajith, in her speech, highlighted the unconditional love and affection that mothers have for their children.

At Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, too, the tiny tots presented heartwarming performances for their mothers in the audience. The latter also participated in games and activities—they played musical chairs, for instance. Besides, the students took part in a cooking competition called “Food without Fire” where they prepared delicious dishes. The mothers also walked the ramp with their children in fashionable attire. Priti Wason, the school principal, talked about the importance of Mother’s Day in her address and their immense contributions as caregivers.

The mothers and children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and took back fond memories of a day well spent.

“’A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take’ – Gaspard Mermillod. No words can express the power and beauty of a mother’s love, always selfless, gentle and nurturing.”

-Dr Sarita Pande, Principal, Apeejay International School, Greater Noida

“Let’s break the perfect mom stereotype and be strong, determined, and independent”

-Sinia Sajith, Principal, Apeejay School Model Town, Jalandhar

“The one who can love you unconditionally, understands without saying, sees no day and night, keeps a child’s choice first, and cherishes their smile as a victory trophy is none other than a mother. One may write volumes defining a mother. For me she is my world and I simply love her so much that I would like to be like her–enduring, energetic, brave, hardworking, loving, caring, selfless, good mentor, a guide, a friend, and a philosopher. Mother is a masterpiece God created to make this world a beautiful place to live.”

-Priti Wason, Principal, Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad
