As mentioned by Anadil Hossain, “Combined with passion and perseverance, identifying and leveraging your strengths and aptitudes is the key to any career path.” This is exactly what three students of Corporate Communication and Event Management (CCEM) programme from Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) did. The three achievers have been placed with Genesis BCW, a global public relations (PR) firm and part of WPP group.  Upon being asked about their experience of the campus recruitment process, the students shared a few important tips that helped them get through this job interview:

Excited to get hired by her dream company, Kritty Gahatraj said, “Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication and its mentors as well as faculty have worked tirelessly to polish us and turn us into corporate professionals. The industry ready professors are well equipped in terms of education. Continuous guest lectures, seminars, and workshops held on campus aided us in gaining practical knowledge and a 360-degree integrated marketing approach in all facets. I am excited to start my career with Genesis BCW.”

She further highlighted her interview preparation strategy. “Keeping up with current events and trending topics is very much essential for anyone pursuing a profession in public relations. That one mantra I always abide by is, you must be enthusiastic to learn more since it is what will help you become a better version of yourself every day. Always be flexible with approaches and most importantly, be confident in yourself.”

Another achiever, Shreyashi Chowdhury shared how she has worked hard to discover herself and found out that she not only has a creative mind but also is a persuasive orator. She adds, “I am happy as I have been hired by one of the best PR firms in India. This has been possible because of the constant support of our mentor, program director, who always pushed us to give our best. For placement preparation, the mock interviews play an essential role as it helps us to sharpen our skills.”

For Aayushi Akhouri, AIMC has taught her something new every day and the learnings have helped her crack this interview for Genesis BCW, WPP group. Talking about her interview preparation, she says, “The most important thing is to know truly about yourself. Whatever is there in your resume, you need to know everything thoroughly. You also need to be updated with the recent current affairs as well as know about the company. Mock interviews helped me a lot as it mirrors an actual job interview. Finally,  while giving your interview, be calm and think positive and always try to learn something from it.”
