Apeejay School, Pitampura hosts spectacular ‘Spic Macay’ event

Apeejay School, Pitampura, experienced a moment of great pride as it hosted its annual ‘Spic Macay’ event with utmost grandeur. The energy in the auditorium was electrifying, filled with anticipation as the audience awaited the graceful presentation that was about to unfold. The event commenced by extending a warm welcome to our esteemed guest, Arushi Mudgal ji, one of the most remarkable Odissi dancers in the nation, along with other revered musicians accompanying her, with a floral tribute as a token of gratitude.

The ceremony began with the traditional and auspicious lighting of the lamp, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and wisdom. A melodious prayer by the school choir uplifted everyone’s spirits, creating a sense of unity and connecting all to the almighty. The much-anticipated moment arrived as the renowned Odissi artist took to the stage, mesmerising everyone with her elegant ‘abhinaya’, or expressive storytelling through dance.

Following her captivating performance, Arushi Mudgal Ji engaged in a quick interaction with the awe-struck audience, sharing insights into her journey as a dancer and the nuances of Odissi as an art form.  Principal, Mrs. Veena Goel, then shared her words of wisdom, emphasising the importance of art and culture in shaping young minds and fostering creativity. 

As a token of appreciation for Arushi Mudgal Ji’s contribution to the world of dance, she, along with the accompanying artists, was presented with a memento by the school authorities. The ceremony concluded on a note of heartfelt gratitude, with the Head of the Fine Arts department, Mrs. Manju Varma, expressing her sincere thanks to the guests for gracing the school with their presence and making it an unforgettable morning filled with elegance and artistry.
