In a heartwarming initiative aimed at promoting emotional and physical well-being among students, Apeejay School, Saket celebrated World Health Day with an enlightening and impactful session titled “Swasth Mann, Swasth Bachpan”. Organised by the proactive and dynamic Interact Club in close collaboration with the widely respected Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, the event was held with great enthusiasm in the school’s auditorium. The programme created an engaging atmosphere filled with awareness, education, and open dialogue around health and wellness.

The session was designed to highlight the importance of nurturing a healthy mind and body during the critical years of childhood and adolescence – a time of immense growth, emotional development, and evolving identity. In today’s rapidly changing world, driven by digital technology, academic pressure, and social dynamics, conversations around holistic health are not only important but necessary. The programme was elevated by the gracious presence of two highly respected professionals in the field: counselling psychologist Dr. Gargi Dagar and experienced nutritionist Dr. Pooja. Their insightful perspectives, relatable delivery, and professional warmth made the event both informative and inspiring.
School Principal, Dr. Sujeet Eric Masih, extended a warm green welcome to the distinguished guests – a gesture symbolising life, renewal, and environmental consciousness. In his address, he expressed deep appreciation for Dainik Jagran’s consistent commitment to championing causes related to the well-being of students and the larger community.

Dr. Pooja delivered an eye-opening talk that focused on the strong and often underestimated link between nutrition and emotional health. She highlighted how a well-balanced, nutrient-rich diet can positively impact brain function, improve concentration, uplift mood, enhance sleep quality, and build long-term emotional resilience. Using real-life examples and scientifically backed insights, she encouraged students to adopt mindful eating habits. From choosing fruits over packaged snacks to staying hydrated and eating at regular intervals, Dr. Pooja’s tips were practical, empowering, and easy to implement in daily life.
Students from Classes 9 and 11 were the primary participants in this engaging session. They enthusiastically took part in interactive discussions, posed thoughtful questions. Many students reflected on their eating patterns and daily routines, sparking meaningful exchanges with the guest speakers. The session was filled with lively dialogue, curiosity, and a genuine desire to learn. Real-life examples, relatable scenarios, and easy-to-remember strategies helped students internalise the core messages of the session.

The programme concluded with a vibrant and insightful Q&A round, during which students voiced their concerns with confidence and clarity. The experts responded with kindness, precision, and encouragement, ensuring that every child felt heard and supported. Teachers, too, expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the initiative, recognising the session’s valuable contribution to their students’ overall development. Many remarked that such sessions should be held regularly to reinforce the importance of emotional and physical wellness.
Overall, the event served as a shining example of Apeejay School, Saket’s holistic approach to education – an approach that values not just academic excellence, but also emotional intelligence, personal health, and social responsibility.
