A business proprietor dealing in women apparels in Delhi, Mr. Shashank Gupta chose Apeejay School, Pitampura for both her daughters. His elder one, Maisha Gupta is a student of class 2 at the school and the younger, Tanaya studies in the Nursery class. When asked why he chose the school for both his daughters, Mr. Gupta says, “Most of my friends and colleagues’ children are in the same school. It is near to our home and is a top choice in North Delhi.” Edited excerpts from his interview:

How is Maisha doing at the school?

She has been doing very well. The teachers ensure to keep a regular check on all the students and they keep in mind their progress and development. Because of them, Maisha is doing well in her classes, and so, my wife, Sapna Gupta and I, enrolled Tanaya too, in the same school.

How has Tanaya’s experience been at the Nursery class?

Her class teacher, Ms. Monika has been doing a lot of effort with her. She pays attention to the pronunciation and communication abilities of the young kids and that is very appreciable.

Apeejay School, Pitampura has a stellar record at academics and overall the school is much organised and on point with all the activities they do for the students. Teachers and staff of the school work very hard to help develop and enhance students’ skills, so much so that the parents don’t have to worry.  I am very satisfied with the school.

Tanaya was enrolled at Nursery last year in the pandemic. Did the admission process happen smoothly?

Yes, very much. Some of the forms that had to be filled at Apeejay were different from other schools, but there were no hiccups in the process.

What would be the special achievements for your daughters since their association with Apeejay?

Maisha, my elder daughter, became the ‘Student of the Year’ at the school in her Nursery class. That was a big achievement and recognition for her. She also won the first prize in art across Delhi schools and she actively likes to participate in competitions. These are helping her build her confidence. Since Tanaya has just joined the school a few months ago, we have been observing good improvement in her.

Your tips for parents looking to enroll their child at Nursery this year?

There is no such advice for fellow parents. It is just that the classes may again become online for Nursery kids, which I think is okay. It does take time for the young ones to become savvy to online classes, and so parents can contribute by being there for them during this time. Both my daughters are enjoying their classes at Apeejay, so I would say go for it.
