Arijit RoyStudents of classes 11 and 12 of Apeejay School, Kharghar recently embarked on an exciting and memorable trip to Silent Hills resort in Manor. The getaway was planned as a part of team-building activities that allowed the students to bond, relax, and revitalise. The resort provided a memorable experience by combining team-building exercises, water activities, a Bollywood-themed fashion ramp walk, and a bonfire.
The adventure began in the morning of an October day when students left the school premises around 8 AM. The drive to Silent Hills resort was filled with fun and frolic as students enjoyed their bus journey while singing their hearts out. An array of stunning natural scenery greeted them as they entered the resort property, which was a welcome contrast from the city. The students had a sumptuous breakfast and later were shown their well-appointed comfortable rooms.
The Compass holiday staff had planned a variety of fun yet challenging activities to enable students establish teamwork, communication, and trust. The students participated in activities such as zipline drills, ladder climbing, rope climbing, tent building, etc. In the evening, students enjoyed the water activities at the resort, which involved many exhilarating water slides and a delightful rain dance.
The Bollywood themed fashion runway walk was the highlight reel of the trip. The young tourists dressed as gorgeous Bollywood stars and strutted their costumes with poise on the resort’s makeshift ramp in the second half of the evening. It was a night filled with laughter and entertainment which culminated with a bonfire.
The next morning students were engaged in fun exercises along with a wide range of adventure activities such as rifle shooting and archery followed by a treasure hunt in the afternoon, culminating with a savoury lunch.
This trip not only gave students a much needed vacation from their everyday routine, but also made the students’ relationships stronger and left them with long-lasting memories. It encouraged a greater appreciation of nature and fostered new friendships. It was indeed a transformative experience for the students that left a lasting impact on their personal development.
While the school understands the importance for the senior secondary batch to make such beautiful memories, the school also believes in imparting the same lessons of teamwork to the secondary classes, thereby preparing them well in advance.
Hence, class 9 and 10 students of Apeejay School, Kharghar also embarked on an enriching overnight educational journey to Silent Hill Resort in partnership with Compass Education Tours and Valedra Pvt Ltd. This trip focused on experiential learning for the school students, and it was an unforgettable experience for all involved.
The adventure began as students eagerly gathered at 7.30 AM in the school compound to board the comfortable 6AC deluxe coach buses. Within approximately three hours, the students arrived at the picturesque destination. The lush green landscapes surrounded by hills and a flowing river left all the students in awe.
A total of 238 students and 15 accompanying staff members indulged in a delectable breakfast at the resort that took the travel lag away. The Compass Holiday team had thoughtfully organised various enjoyable yet challenging activities aimed at fostering teamwork, communication, and trust among the students. These activities included ziplining, ladder climbing, rope climbing, and tent building. In the evening, students revelled in water activities at the resort, which included thrilling water slides and a lively rain dance.
The highlight of this trip however was the Dhol Baje-themed fashion runway walk and Garba dance performances. Students dressed in stunning attires and strutted their costumes gracefully. Prizes were awarded for the best attire, the best walk, and overall style statement. The evening was filled with laughter and entertainment, concluding with a bonfire and a birthday celebration.
The following morning, students engaged in a wide range of adventure activities, including rifle shooting and archery. These activities were followed by an exciting treasure hunt and a delicious lunch. The closing ceremony took place after lunch, during which Compass Holiday staff recognized outstanding performers, leaders and campers with prizes. This marked the conclusion of a memorable trip that blended real-life experiential learning with fun and camaraderie.
