Apeejay Newsroom recently had the pleasure of speaking with the mother of Ajooni Kaur, a 6th-grade student at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar. Having previously enrolled her son at Apeejay, she was thoroughly impressed with the holistic grooming and opportunities the school provided. When her son passed out in 2023 to pursue engineering, he had not only excelled academically but also found his passion for music, specifically in playing the tabla under the guidance of the music teacher. This enriching experience made choosing Apeejay for Ajooni a natural decision. Now, she looks forward to Ajooni receiving the same well-rounded development, particularly in areas like co-curricular activities, sports, and communication skills, which Apeejay is known for nurturing.
For further insights on the importance of holistic development in education, you might find it valuable to explore literature on integrated learning approaches or studies that emphasise the balance between academics and extracurricular activities in fostering well-rounded students. Read edited excerpts:
What are your expectations for Ajooni at Apeejay?
I expect Apeejay to provide the same holistic development for Ajooni as it did for my son. She’s already showing promise, actively participating in the basketball team and other co-curricular activities.
Why do you believe Apeejay is the right choice for your children’s education?
Education isn’t just about academics; it’s about overall grooming. Apeejay emphasises this by encouraging participation in sports, communication skills, and other activities. It’s a complete package, which I believe is essential for my children’s growth.
How has Ajooni adapted to Apeejay?
Ajooni is thrilled to be at Apeejay. She loves her teachers, especially her class teacher, Navdeep ma’am, who recognises her talents and encourages her. Ajooni actively participates in activities like chart making and basketball, finding joy in every opportunity.
What are Ajooni’s interests and strengths academically?
Ajooni excels in science and social studies but struggles a bit with maths. However, she’s making efforts to improve. She’s also passionate about drama and has a knack for dialect delivery and public speaking.
How has Ajooni’s social experience been at Apeejay?
Ajooni is outgoing and social, making friends easily. Despite initial worries, she quickly connected with her peers, even inviting them to her birthday celebration shortly after joining the school.
As a parent and professional, why would you recommend Apeejay to others?
As an immigration advisor and a woman entrepreneur, I understand the importance of a well-rounded education. Apeejay provides exactly that, fostering confidence, independence, and a spirit of exploration in students. I wholeheartedly recommend it to parents seeking a nurturing environment for their children.
