Alumni Triumph: Stars illuminate pathways to excellence

From Apeejay’s halls to the world’s stage, ex-students unveil success

In the world of education, the return of accomplished alumni to their alma mater is an event that resonates with profound significance. It serves as a beacon of inspiration, illuminating the paths that young minds can tread to achieve their dreams.

Recently, Apeejay School, Nerul in Navi Mumbai had the distinct honour of welcoming back two exceptional achievers, Kundan Maiti and Arnav Bhate, who not only shared their remarkable journeys but also ignited a spark of aspiration among the current students.

The power of these achievers’ stories lies not only in their extraordinary accomplishments but also in the relatability of their struggles and the strategies they employed to overcome challenges. Kundan’s astonishing feat of securing an astounding 99 per cent in his Board exams, coupled with a remarkable hundred in four subjects, is a testament to his dedication and diligence. His triumph in the highly competitive JEE Advanced examination, resulting in an impressive All India Rank of 371, earned him a coveted seat in BTech. (Electrical) at the prestigious IIT Bombay.

Arnav Bhate, another shining star of the school, achieved a stellar 97.6 per cent in his Board exams and secured an All India rank of 794 in JEE Advanced, propelling him into the realm of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay.

The school felicitated these achievers through a ceremony which was graced by the presence of Mr Sharad Tiwari, Education Officer at Apeejay Education. Amidst the warmth of floral greetings, the students were honoured for their remarkable accomplishments.

The principal of the school, Mr P Subhash, in his address, highlighted the profound impact that the relentless efforts of educators can have on nurturing and guiding students towards greatness. The undeniable bond between the ex-students and the school was palpable as the achievements of Kundan and Arnav reflected not only their personal triumphs but also the dedication of their teachers.

The exchange between the achievers and the current class XII Science stream students was a treasure trove of insights and advice. The Academic Coordinator of the school, Mrs Shakuntala Singh, introduced the ex-students, providing a bridge between the present and the past. Kundan took the stage and shared valuable strategies to conquer competitive exams. He underscored the importance of meticulous time management and unwavering commitment from the outset of the academic year.

His advice to maintain an error analysis notebook resonated deeply, offering a practical approach to mastering challenging concepts. The significance of regular attendance was emphasised, a lesson that was reinforced by Arnav’s remarkable 100 per cent attendance record until the curriculum was completed. He also stressed the essential relationship between good health and academic success, along with the need to ward off distractions.

The interactive session that ensued was a testament to the curiosity of the present students. Questions poured in, covering study schedules, motivational techniques, study materials, and the right mindset. The ex-students, now accomplished in their fields, patiently addressed each query, igniting the flame of curiosity and determination among their juniors.

The future aspirations of Kundan and Arnav added another layer of motivation. Kundan’s dream to explore the realms of Astrophysics and Arnav’s ambition to delve into Artificial Intelligence and IT showcased the diversity of paths that can be pursued after an exemplary academic journey.

This homecoming of achievers is more than just an event; it is a testament to the transformative power of education. The unbreakable bond between ex-students and their school, the exchange of knowledge and wisdom, and the embodiment of resilience and success serve as a beacon for all to follow.
