First-aid training empowers young learners with life-saving skills

Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri organised a First Aid Training and Awareness Activity on, for students of Nursery to Class II. Conducted under the able guidance of Mrs Jyoti Goyal, Incharge, the initiative aimed to introduce young learners to the importance of first aid, safety awareness and responsible behaviour in an age-appropriate and engaging manner.

The session focused on helping children understand how to respond calmly and responsibly during minor accidents or emergencies. To make the learning experience meaningful, the students presented an engaging play featuring simple dialogues, role play and relatable situations. Through their performances, they demonstrated what should be done when someone experiences a minor injury, falls down, gets a small cut or requires immediate assistance.

The presentation effectively explained that first aid refers to the immediate assistance provided to an injured or unwell person before professional medical help becomes available. The students highlighted key safety practices such as remaining calm, informing a trusted adult, ensuring the injured person’s safety and avoiding panic.

The activity provided the young participants with an opportunity to learn through observation, participation and performance. Their confident expressions, dialogues and actions reflected their understanding of the basic concepts introduced during the session. It also helped nurture important values such as empathy, care, alertness, responsibility and helpfulness.

Principal of the school, Dr Vineet Vasishtha appreciated the thoughtful initiative and applauded the students for their enthusiastic participation. He also commended Mrs Jyoti Goyal for guiding the activity effectively and emphasised the importance of developing safety awareness among children from an early age.

The initiative successfully blended learning with creativity, making first-aid awareness simple, memorable and meaningful. It reinforced the message that staying prepared, caring for others and seeking timely adult assistance are essential life skills.
