Hindi Diwas brings language & culture alive

Young learners at Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, Sector 21 D, marked Hindi Diwas through a special session centred on language, culture and pride. Organised for students of Classes I to V, the session helped them understand the reason behind the observance and the importance of Hindi in the country’s linguistic landscape.

The session began by explaining why the day is celebrated. Students learnt about the place Hindi holds as one of the official languages of the Union. The discussion gave them a clear understanding of the occasion and encouraged them to look at the language beyond its everyday use.

For young learners, such conversations can make an observance more meaningful. Instead of simply knowing that a special day is celebrated, they begin to understand the thought and purpose behind it.

Connecting language with culture

A key part of the session focused on the richness of Hindi. Students were introduced to its contribution to India’s literary and cultural heritage. This helped them see how a language carries stories, ideas and traditions across generations.

The discussion also drew attention to the need to preserve and nurture Hindi. At the same time, students learnt to appreciate its place within India’s diverse linguistic landscape. The session presented this diversity in a simple manner that was suited to their age and understanding.

Learning through participation
