Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar Invests New Student Leaders for Psychology Forum and ‘The Listening Room’

The investiture ceremony empowers students to take initiative, build confidence and develop leadership skills through active participation.

The PG Department of Psychology at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, organised the Investiture Ceremony of the ‘Psychology Forum’ and ‘The Listening Room’ with great enthusiasm. The ceremony marked an important step towards encouraging student leadership, responsibility and active participation in co-curricular activities. Deserving students were entrusted with various positions based on their academic performance and involvement in co-curricular activities.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra highlighted the significance of such student-led platforms in shaping confident and responsible individuals. She said the primary objective of the forums is to enhance students’ confidence, encourage them to take initiative and enable them to independently organise events. She emphasised that these platforms help students move forward fearlessly in life, develop their personalities and strengthen their ability to make appropriate decisions according to the demands of time.

Dr. Dhingra further noted that dedicated and sincere efforts enable students to develop mental strength and a positive outlook, while leadership responsibilities provide valuable opportunities to learn through experience.

The new office-bearers of the Psychology Forum for Session 2026–27 were announced during the ceremony. Shruti was appointed President, Jiya Vice President, Shobhna General Secretary, Harsimar Deputy General Secretary, Disha Administrative Head and Akshpreet Deputy Administrative Head. Navneet took charge as Executive Head, with Jasneet as Deputy Executive Head. Yashika was appointed Creative Head, Sanah Joint Creative Head and Riza Deputy Creative Head. Komalpreet and Ridhi were appointed Discipline In-charge and Discipline Sub-In-charge, respectively.

For event management, Prishapreet and Maria were appointed Event and Hospitality Heads, while Neelakshi and Bhavleen took charge as Joint Event Coordinators. Sanah and Kashish were appointed Deputy Event Coordinators. In the media team, Vanshika was appointed Press In-charge, Dakshpreet Press Team Coordinator, and Diksha, Tamanna and Jia Press Team Members. Manya and Sanchi were appointed Treasurers, while Falak, Niyati and Sameera took up responsibilities as Volunteers.

For ‘The Listening Room’, Sahajpreet was appointed Student In-charge, Himani and Suhani Coordinators, and Harshita, Sukhsehajpreet, Akshita, Palak, Jasleen, Shreya and Hansika Support Buddies. For the ‘Psych Fiesta Committee’, Niharika was appointed Student In-charge, Sahania Coordinator, and Nandini, Sneha, Dhun, Bhumika, Lakshmi, Krishna and Sameera Volunteers.

The ceremony concluded with Dr. Neerja Dhingra presenting badges to all the newly appointed office-bearers and congratulating them. She encouraged the students to fulfil their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication and commitment. She also appreciated the efforts of Psychology Department faculty members Ms. Niharika and Ms. Harjas Kaur for successfully organising the investiture ceremony.

The event reflected ACFA’s commitment to providing students with meaningful opportunities to lead, collaborate and grow beyond the classroom.
