When this parent was in school, his friends were from Apeejay School, Faridabad. He always liked the way they carried themselves. They were confident and presentable, and that left an impression on this parent. Later, when the family shifted to Greater Noida in 2009, Apeejay School, Greater Noida, felt like a natural choice. The nursery staff was good, and the early years environment gave the family confidence as parents. Meet Shashank Khanna, whose daughter Aakriti (now in Class XII) is studying here.

Read what this father had to say about his daughters’ journey at this school…

How long has your association been with this school?

My elder daughter joined the school in 2009. When my younger one was born, we admitted her here as well. Over the years, I have recommended more than 50 students, and all of them have studied here. Parents choose a school based on word of mouth. Education is one field where personal trust matters a lot.

How has Aakriti’s academic journey been over the years?

She has always been a good student. She has consistently performed well and has usually been among the top five students in her class. Her academic journey has been steady and positive. The teachers have been good and supportive. They have guided her through the years and have played an important role in her school journey.

What is your elder daughter doing now?

My elder daughter is pursuing BTech in AI from Manipal University, Jaipur. She has been doing well there, too. She scored above a 9 CGPA, and her performance has been among the best. It feels good to see her continue to do well after school.

Have you seen personality development in your daughters because of the school?

For me, personality development has always been very important. I did not want my children to gain only bookish knowledge. I wanted them to become confident, presentable, and well-rounded. I feel Apeejay School has contributed to that. If I had to rate this aspect, I would give it an eight out of ten.

What are Aakriti’s plans?

She has taken Commerce. . So this is an important year for her. Like many students at this stage, she is still exploring different career options and trying to understand what she wants to pursue further.

How do you handle academic stress at home, especially with Board exams approaching?

I have always asked my children not to take unnecessary stress. Since childhood, my advice to them has been simple. Do what you can do with sincerity. If something does not work out, do not allow it to break you. I believe children should study seriously, but they should not be made to feel crushed by pressure.

What advice would you give to other parents?

Parents should remember that they were children once, too. It is important to guide children and give them direction, but it should be done with understanding. Every child is different. Some children are good in academics, some are good in extracurricular activities, and some manage many things together. When we need to point something out, we should do it in a friendly way. Children respond better when they feel supported rather than pressured.

The role you have played in your children’s lives…

I confidently credit my wife for their success. She has been the one who has guided and mentored our daughters. It is because of her that my daughters are doing so well academically and otherwise.
