To mark Doctors’ Day, students of the Interact Club of Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, visited Yatharth Hospital and Asian Hospital to express their gratitude towards doctors and gain a deeper understanding of compassion, service, and resilience.
The visit was organised to sensitise students towards the invaluable role doctors play in society. It also encouraged them to develop empathy for patients and recognise the emotional strength required during difficult health journeys.
At both hospitals, the students interacted with senior doctors, who shared insights into their daily responsibilities, professional challenges, and the dedication required to serve patients with care and commitment. The conversations helped students understand that medicine is not merely a profession, but a lifelong responsibility built on knowledge, patience, and humanity.
The students also had an opportunity to meet patients undergoing treatment. At Asian Hospital, they interacted with cancer patients, while at Yatharth Hospital, they met patients living with thalassaemia. These interactions proved to be deeply moving for the young visitors.
They listened attentively as patients shared their experiences, struggles, and hopes during treatment and recovery. They asked thoughtful questions about lifestyle choices, emotional well-being, medical care, and the importance of maintaining a positive attitude during challenging times. The interactions helped students appreciate the courage and resilience displayed by patients and their families.

As a gesture of warmth and appreciation, the students presented handmade cards to doctors and patients at both hospitals. The cards carried messages of gratitude, encouragement, and hope, bringing smiles to many faces. Through this simple gesture, the students conveyed their respect for doctors and their support for those undergoing treatment.
The visit offered valuable lessons beyond the classroom. Meeting doctors highlighted the values of service, sacrifice, discipline, and lifelong learning. Interacting with patients taught students the importance of courage, emotional strength, and optimism in the face of adversity.
The experience also reinforced the understanding that doctors are more than healthcare professionals; they are lifesavers who work tirelessly to support individuals, families, and communities. For the students, the Doctors’ Day visits became a meaningful reminder of the power of empathy and gratitude.
The initiative was a significant step towards nurturing compassionate young citizens who understand the importance of kindness, service, and human connection in everyday life.
