From a lively school life to a future in corporate law, Arshiya Chopra is ready to take on the world. An alumna of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Arshiya recently passed Class XII and is now headed to uncover what’s in store for her. Throughout her school years, she was not just a diligent student but also an active participant in co-curricular activities. With a firm goal of making a mark in corporate law, she is determined to combine academic rigour with ethical integrity in her future legal career.

In a candid conversation, she talks about her passions, study strategies, and unforgettable memories.

Tell us about yourself.

I’m a very extroverted person who loves learning and expressing through art. I’ve spent my entire school life at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg. I’ve dabbled in everything from sports to dance to painting, and painting is where I’ve truly found myself. I’ve even sold my art and put up exhibitions!

You also scored 92% in your boards. What helped you focus?

I wasn’t a bookworm or nerdy, to be honest. I just followed a simple principle — understand first, learn later. I used to read everything multiple times before even trying to memorise. That made things stick naturally. Also, I was always the first one to ask questions in class. Clearing doubts is key.

What stream did you take, and what’s next for you?

I was in the Commerce with Math stream. Now, I’m heading to Jindal Global Law School for a five-year integrated BBA LLB course. I want to become a corporate lawyer because I love both law and business, and want to blend them in my career.

How would you describe your school life in one word?

Fun! I lived every moment. I enjoyed breaks, had the best time with friends, danced, painted, and yes, studied when it was required. I never felt like I missed out on anything.

Is there one memory that stands out the most?

When I gave my interview for the Dr. Stya Paul Award. I was nervous, but when I walked out, I felt proud. It was my first formal interview, and I spoke honestly. That moment stayed with me; it made me realise how much I had grown.

Advice to juniors.

Don’t try to fit into a mould. Explore everything. Learn, unlearn, and be curious. Be real. That’s what makes you stand out.
