In preparation for the upcoming Common Eligibility Test (CET), the Haryana government has announced that all government and private schools across the state will remain closed on Saturday, July 26, 2025. This measure has been taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the CET, scheduled for July 26 and 27, which aims to recruit candidates for Group C (third class) positions in various state departments.

Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda made the official announcement during his recent visit to Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University in Jind. He emphasised that the closure of schools is necessary as a large number of school premises are being designated as examination centres. Suspending academic activity on that day will help authorities manage the logistics and security required for a hassle-free examination experience.

CET 2025: At a Glance

  • Examination Dates: July 26 and 27, 2025
  • Registered Candidates: Approximately 13.48 lakh aspirants
  • Total Centres: 1,338 locations across Haryana
  • Security Arrangements: Over 14,000 police personnel to be deployed
  • Exam Workforce: 1,400 officials from the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) along with staff from schools and colleges

The scale of the CET has prompted the government to take extensive measures to ensure fair and efficient execution. With nearly 13.5 lakh candidates appearing for the examination, the holiday will facilitate better crowd management, tighter security, and smoother coordination among staff and officials involved in the process.
