Apeejay School, Pitampura family pays tribute to Smt Rajeshwari Paul

Apeejay School, Pitampura recently hosted the Rajeshwari Kala Utsav 2025, a celebration of art, culture, and creative expression dedicated to the memory of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, the revered first lady of the Apeejay Stya & Svran Group. The event honoured her timeless contribution to the promotion of fine arts and her pioneering role in nurturing the creative potential in every child.

The school campus came alive with colour, rhythm, and energy as students, teachers, staff, and parents came together to celebrate the legacy of an iconic woman whose values continue to inspire generations. The event began on a soul-soothing note, with heartfelt prayers and musical renditions by the school choir, echoing through the grounds and setting a serene and reverent tone.

The celebrations gained momentum with a series of captivating classical and folk dance performances, rich in tradition and vibrancy. The semi-classical and classical dances presented by middle school students were both graceful and expressive. Adding regional diversity, students from classes 9 to 12 performed folk dances themed around Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, showcasing the beauty of India’s cultural heritage. It was spectacular to witness the students move in such effortless synchrony in their colourful folk attires as spellbound students looked on in the audience. Meanwhile, students of classes 4 and 5 participated in a bhajan competition, bringing spiritual warmth and a sense of devotion to the festivities.

In her address, Principal, Mrs Veena Goel reflected on the deeper essence of the day. “Today, we celebrate creation and generosity—qualities that defined Smt. Rajeshwari Paul,” she said. She also recalled how Smt. Paul was a staunch patron of the arts at a time when they were often undervalued in society. “She believed in the transformative power of creativity and always encouraged students to explore and express their artistic selves,” the Principal added.

One of the highlights of the day was the Rajeshwari Kala Utsav-Art Exhibition, a visually stunning and intellectually engaging showcase of student artworks. The exhibition featured a wide spectrum of artistic genres including still-life sketches, caricatures, nature-inspired canvases, and traditional Indian art forms like Madhubani and Bhil art. Visitors were particularly moved by the way students eloquently explained the stories and social messages behind their creations, reflecting deep thought and a mature understanding of their world.

The day concluded in true Apeejay Pitampura spirit with an exuberant rock and roll performance by the school choir band. The infectious energy of the students on stage had the audience clapping and swaying along, ending the event on a joyful, electric note.
