Every student dreams of being a star performer in their class, but few put in the consistent effort, discipline, and curiosity required to make that dream come true. At Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, three students from Class 8 – Riyanshi, Pallavi Jangra, and Sidhima Sangwan – have emerged as academic performers for the 2024-25 session (class 7th). In a heartwarming conversation, these students opened up about their journey, study strategies, and what motivates them to excel.
Riyanshi: A Science Enthusiast with a Creative Heart
Scoring an impressive 95.6% in Class 7, Riyanshi was all smiles while recalling the moment she saw her result. “It was actually my first time scoring the highest in class. Everyone was really happy and supportive,” she shared excitedly. Although the exams were “easy,” she admits she was both nervous and excited at the same time.
Her love for science, especially human anatomy, shines through. “The skeletal system, the circulatory system – I could read about them all day!” she said. Riyanshi also finds joy in art and painting, calling it her “safe space.” With the new academic year already in full swing, she’s enjoying her lessons, particularly an English story featuring a humorous ghost. “Our teachers explain everything so well. That makes learning so enjoyable,” she added.
Pallavi Jangra: The Disciplined Artist
Securing 93.8% in Class 7, Pallavi attributes her success to a balance of self-study and parental guidance. “My parents and teachers helped me clear doubts and manage my time well,” she said. Known for her creative flair, Pallavi hopes to pursue a career as an artist.
Pallavi believes that consistency is key. She follows a proper timetable, studies early in the morning, and ensures thorough revision using notes from both teachers and YouTube. Her advice to juniors? “Don’t give up. You might not be the topper now, but keep trying – you will be next time!” Outside of academics, she’s also sporty. “We had a Kho-Kho match recently and our house won!” she shared proudly.
Sidhima Sangwan: Calm, Focused, and Driven
With a score of 91.6%, Sidhima took a more minimalist route – regular homework and focused attention during study hours. “I study in silence. It helps me stay stress-free,” she said. Her parents’ encouragement to serve the nation and her teachers’ support have been guiding forces.
Currently, she’s torn between two career paths – judge or doctor – but is leaning towards medicine. “I revise by focusing on key points,” she noted. The first two weeks of Class 8 have been busy for her, filled with setting up notebooks and diving into books for science and math. Her message to peers? “Keep studying and revising regularly.”
