‘What we have been aspiring’: Poem by Aditi Tiwari, Apeejay School, Noida

I decided to take on the challenge as
I realized that I had the power to rise from the ash
When I decided to look on the bright side,
To work hard till my views are amplified.
And when the world dwelled in something, we all dread,
It was a challenge to stop worrying and think ahead
It was time we stopped sighing
Even if the situation of the world was looking horrifying.
It is time to spread my wings
To be my own destiny’s king
To strike at my prey like falcon
To be my own life’s captain
And I know there will be moments there
Where all that can be seen is darkness and despair
Mountains of troubles will always loom around
But do not be distressed because
To rise up we first have to hit the ground
And for a phoenix to rise from its embers
It has to burn down
But victory will be of those who can conquer fear
Those who won’t be troubled, just persevere
Those who can spot the sun in the darkness
Can climb over even the tallest mountains
To have the strength to rise
Not to those who whines and sighs greatly
Cause they say creation is found in the rubble of destruction
And it can only be achieved through hard work and dedication
The greatest, the noble the best
Those who are inspirations to the rest,
Know that after reaching rock bottom we can only rise
To invent the bulb even Edison took more than a thousand tries
Thus, I decided it’s time to stand up
To find my strength
To never lose it again.
So, I decided to rise to the challenge
Because my hopes had reached
And to strive harder is what we should find admiring
Only then can we achieve what we have been aspiring
