Apeejay School, Nerul celebrated India’s 76th Republic Day with great éclat and fervour, showcasing the spirit of patriotism, unity, and excellence. The celebration, marked by a series of cultural performances and recognitions, reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing responsible and talented individuals who contribute meaningfully to society.

The grand programme commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the Indian National Flag by the esteemed Principal, Mr P Subhash. As the tricolour unfurled, the students, staff, and guests saluted the flag, expressing their deep pride and reverence for the nation. The air was filled with patriotic zeal as the entire gathering sang the National Anthem in unison, embodying the true essence of democracy and national unity.

The event began on a spiritual note with a mesmerising invocation dance, symbolising India’s deep-rooted values of peace, harmony, and universal brotherhood. This soulful performance served as a tribute to the country’s rich cultural heritage and its unwavering commitment to fostering unity among its diverse people.

Apeejay School, Nerul has a longstanding tradition of honouring the parents of high achievers every Republic Day. This year was no exception, as the school proudly felicitated the parents of students who had demonstrated exemplary performance in academics and extracurricular activities. The achievers who brought laurels to the institute included Ishaan Singh (XII D), Utkarsh Kothari (XII D), Sreeja Barman (XI B), Advika Shetty (XI D), Yash Kumar (XI A), Annika Anand (X A), Abhiroop Senapati (X B), Rashi Chaure (IX C), Alinah Patel (X B), and Adya Garad (VII A). The Principal warmly acknowledged the efforts and unwavering support of their parents, presenting them with tokens of appreciation as a mark of gratitude for their role in shaping these young achievers.

In his address, the Principal delivered a thought-provoking speech on the importance of national unity and responsible citizenship. He remarked, India’s true strength lies in its unity, driven by the guiding principles of fraternity, secularism, and socialism. A true Indian is not only aware of his rights but also understands his duties.” His words deeply resonated with the audience, reinforcing the significance of upholding constitutional values in daily life.

Furthering this discourse, young orators from the school captivated the audience with their inspiring speeches in English and Hindi, emphasising the historical and contemporary relevance of Republic Day. Through their eloquent words, they highlighted how the Constitution of India, adopted in 1950, has played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s democratic framework and ensuring justice, equality, and liberty for all citizens.

Adding to the patriotic fervour, the school choir enthralled the audience with a melodious rendition of a patriotic song. Their harmonious voices echoed a deep sense of devotion to the nation, leaving everyone spellbound. The performance evoked emotions of pride and admiration for the sacrifices made by the country’s freedom fighters.

One of the most highly anticipated performances of the day was the Harmony Drill, a captivating display of dance and movement. The vibrantly choreographed performance, executed with precision and grace, symbolised India’s diversity and the unity that binds its people together. Through rhythmic formations and synchronised steps, the students beautifully depicted the essence of Republic Day, leaving an indelible impression on the audience.

As the event drew to a close, a vote of thanks was delivered, acknowledging the tireless efforts of the students, teachers, and staff in making the celebration a grand success.
