Apeejay School, Saket, celebrates 107th Founder’s Day with gratitude
The school reflects on Dr Stya Paul’s belief in aiming high and never settling for less
Apeejay School, Saket, celebrated Founder’s Day to mark the 107th birth anniversary of its Founder-Chairman, late Dr Stya Paul. The school community observed the occasion with reverence, gratitude, and pride, paying tribute to a visionary whose ideals continue to inspire generations of students and educators.
Dr Stya Paul (1919-2010) was an eminent industrialist, philanthropist, and freedom fighter who founded Apeejay Education. He built a lasting legacy in industry and education and is remembered for his resilience, integrity, and commitment to service. The Apeejay School motto, Soaring High is My Nature, reflects his belief in aiming high and never settling for less.
The Founder’s Day observance is held across the Apeejay group of institutions each year. At Saket, it gave students, teachers, and staff a chance to reflect on the principles that shaped the Founder-Chairman’s life and continue to guide the school.
The school said the occasion honoured the enduring legacy of a leader who saw education as a means of building character as well as academic ability. His vision of nurturing young people who are confident, compassionate, and committed to values remains central to the school’s approach.
Educators noted that days like this event help students connect with the history and purpose of their institution. By learning about the life and ideas of Dr Stya Paul, young learners gain a more profound understanding of the values behind their school and the example set by someone who rose above personal and professional challenges to make a lasting contribution.
The group’s work in education continues today under the leadership of his daughter, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education, who has carried the Founder-Chairman’s mission forward across the Apeejay network of schools and institutions.
Through this celebration, Apeejay School, Saket, reaffirmed its commitment to the values Dr Stya Paul stood for. The school community expressed gratitude for the vision that brought the institution into being and said it would continue to encourage students to pursue their aspirations while remaining grounded in integrity, kindness, and service to others.
