Her son joined Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, in April this year. The parent chose this school since her two daughters, Namya and Anya Vaid, already study here in Classes XII and XI, respectively. “I wanted all three to attend the same school. Moreover, Apeejay School provides children with many such opportunities, and hence I enrolled my son, Ryan, Vaid (Class VI), here as well,” Shikha Vaid shared in a candid interview.

How has your son adjusted to the new school environment?

Initially, I was a little apprehensive because Ryan had moved from another Board to the CBSE curriculum. I thought he might face some difficulty adjusting. However, he is managing his studies quite easily. The teachers have also been very cooperative.

How have the teachers supported him during this transition?

The teachers have taught and guided him very well. Although he has been at the school for only a short time, I can already see a considerable change in the way he studies. His approach to reading and learning has changed noticeably.

Have you noticed any difference in his understanding of concepts?

Yes. When I began helping him with Science, I initially wondered whether he would be able to answer some of the questions. However, the way he responded reassured me that he had understood the subject and would perform well. He told me that his teacher asks the students to understand a concept first and then explain it in their own words. I appreciate this approach.

How has the school contributed to your daughters’ growth?

My elder daughter, Namya, also came from a convent school. She completed Class X there and joined Apeejay School for Classes XI and XII. My younger daughter, Anya, has been studying at the school since Pre-primary. Over the years, I have noticed a considerable difference in their personalities. Anya has always been extremely confident. Students from the convent school may speak English well and possess sound knowledge, but the level of confidence I have observed in Anya is different. Namya has also become much more confident since joining this school.

Positive changes in your son.

Although he has not been at the school for long, I can already see that he is becoming more confident and independent in his studies. His ability to understand and answer questions in his words has also improved.

How has your interaction with the teachers and staff been?

I think we have had only two or three parent-teacher meetings so far. However, Ryan’s class teacher is very approachable and supportive. Whenever I face a problem or have a concern, I share it with her. She is always extremely cooperative.

What is the most valuable quality Apeejay School has instilled in your children?

The most valuable quality is confidence. The school has helped each of my children develop the confidence to express themselves and approach their studies independently.
