This restaurant feels like you’re in an era of royal feasts where spices, aromas, and flavors are celebrated in every dish. The restaurant’s decor is a mix of modern style and traditional Indian art. It makes for a great meal. With live sitar music playing in the background, Masala Kingdom is a dining experience that is as cultural as its food.

The Dishes

Rogan Josh
The Rogan Josh was the best part of the evening. This lamb curry was a good example of the rich flavors and depth of North Indian cuisine. The lamb was very soft and delicious. It was cooked perfectly in a sauce made of yogurt, onions, and special spices from Kashmir. The sauce was very flavourful, with cardamom, cinnamon, and fennel. It made the dish warm but not too strong. The curry was as visually striking as it was flavourful. The balance of heat and sweetness was perfect, making every bite a flavourful explosion of spices that lingered on the tongue.

Paneer Butter Masala
Paneer Butter Masala was a big hit with vegetarians. This tomato-based dish had cubes of soft, homemade paneer cheese. The sauce was thick and creamy. It had cream, butter, tomatoes, spices like cumin, coriander, and fenugreek. The gravy was sweet, but the tomatoes gave it a slight tang. Each bite of soft paneer covered in a silky sauce was comforting and flavourful. This dish makes you happy because it tastes familiar and has a lot of flavour.

Tandoori Roti
No North Indian meal is complete without freshly baked bread, and the Tandoori Roti at Masala Kingdom was a perfect match for the rich gravy. The rotis were cooked in a traditional tandoor oven, which made them crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Brushing them lightly with butter gave them a slight Smokey flavour that went well with both the Rogan Josh and Paneer Butter Masala. The bread was great for eating the rich sauce because it held just the right amount of sauce in each bite.

Gulab Jamun
The Gulab Jamun, a classic Indian dessert, was served warm and was a perfect treat. These dumplings made from khoya were soaked in a sugar syrup with saffron and cardamom. The Gulab jamuns were soft and sweet, with a floral syrup that made them even better. Each bite was rich and satisfying without being too sweet, and the spices left a warm feeling. It was the perfect way to end a hearty meal.
