Noida school celebrates Navaratri with an enthusiastic assembly

Students showcase a rich cultural heritage through thoughtful activities

The festival of Navaratri took on a special significance at Apeejay School, Noida as students of Class X-D organised a vibrant and enlightening assembly on October 12, 2023. The event was designed to raise awareness among students about the cultural and spiritual importance of Navaratri, a festival celebrated with great devotion and fervor across India.

The event was a kaleidoscope of talent, creativity, and cultural expression. Students demonstrated their enthusiasm for this beloved festival, showcasing their talents and understanding of the significance of Navaratri. The event commenced with a melodious musical performance that set the tone for the assembly. Students played traditional instruments and sang devotional songs, filling the auditorium with the spirit of Navaratri.

The highlight of the assembly was an informative talk that shed light on the historical and cultural significance of the festival. i. The event discussed the festival’s nine nights of worship and devotion to the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Mrs Amrita Hajela, Vice-Principal of the school, was utterly enthralled by the profound insights and knowledge that the presentation delivered.

To add an element of grace and beauty, a mesmerising dance performance followed. Students performed traditional dance, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm for the lively dance forms associated with this festival. Their colourful attire and synchronised moves left the audience spellbound.

Meghna Pancholi, an educator at Apeejay School, Noida, who attended the programme said, “It was a very mesmerising and informative performance. The students through there dance and song performance celebrated the festival of Navaratri with much zeal and enthusiasm.

Pallavi Kapri, another educator at the school, expressed her thoughts by stating, “All the children of the class participated in the assembly with full enthusiasm and gave excellent performances. The children explained the importance of the holy festival of Navaratri to the audience through songs and dance. I appreciate the efforts of the children.”

The students also put together a visually stunning PowerPoint presentation that delved into the history, customs, and the regional diversity of Navaratri celebrations. The audience was given an immersive experience as they saw images of beautifully decorated idols, vibrant attire, and energetic dance sequences.

Mrs Hajela, commended the students for their dedication and effort. She noted that such class assemblies are not competitions but opportunities for children to showcase their talents and learn about various cultural aspects of our society. In addition to this, she praised the students for their comprehensive and engaging presentation.

Vaanya Joshi, a student from the class said, “Celebrating this occasion together and forever was the motive of the assembly. Blessings of Goddess of nine forms is the most important. Navaratri with poojadandiya and classmates was very enjoyable for me.”

This assembly not only entertained but also educated the students about the essence of Navaratri, fostering a sense of cultural awareness and appreciation among the school community. It demonstrated how festivals are not just celebrations but a means of connecting with our rich cultural heritage.
