Apeejay School, Pitampura, celebrated the spirit of Dussehra with a special assembly presented by its kindergarten students. These kids brought scenes from the Ramayan to life through performances, devotional music and dance. The programme introduced the young learners to the cultural and moral significance of Vijayadashami, emphasising the enduring message that good ultimately triumphs over evil.
The assembly revolved around the theme of the Ramayan, with the children presenting scenes from the epic and portraying characters associated with the festival. Their performances included energetic dances depicting Ravan and Hanuman. This added vibrancy to the celebration while reflecting the devotion and enthusiasm of the young participants.
A devotional atmosphere marked the programme, with the recitation of verses and the singing of the Hanuman Chalisa. The presentations offered students an opportunity to engage with India’s cultural heritage through performance and storytelling. These initiatives made the occasion both festive and educational.
Through their acts, the kindergarten students conveyed the central message of Dussehra — the victory of righteousness over wrongdoing. The performances highlighted values such as truth, courage and good conduct, encouraging children to understand the significance of choosing the right path.
The assembly also featured reflections on how the festival’s message remains relevant in everyday life. The underlying lesson was, regardless of how powerful wrongdoing may appear, truth and goodness ultimately prevail. By presenting these ideas through familiar characters and stories, the young learners communicated the values associated with the festival in an engaging format.
The celebration provided a platform for the students to express themselves through dance, music and dramatic representation while becoming familiar with an important episode from Indian mythology. Their participation brought together cultural learning and creative expression, allowing them to explore the significance of a festival celebrated across the country.
The Dussehra assembly concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing the message of the victory of good over evil. Through the performances, Apeejay School, Pitampura, sought to familiarise its youngest learners with the values and traditions associated with Vijayadashami.
