Acknowledging a student’s abilities and hard work, whether in academics or extracurricular activities, is crucial for building their confidence and drive. Support from educators, mentors, and classmates inspires students to enhance their capabilities and pursue their passions. Customised feedback that recognises individual talents helps in cultivating their potential, ensuring every student feels appreciated and motivated to reach their utmost capacity.

Recognising academic success has profound implications not only for individual students but also for educational institutions, communities, and the broader society. It reinforces positive behaviours and attitudes towards learning, leading to a cycle of effort and success.

Meet one such student – Tanushka, a student of Apeejay School, Model Town, who has recently started a new academic year in class II. The seven-year-old who has done her teachers and parents proud in class I says that she loves playing with her toys and going on adventures.

One of her favourite places is the school. “This is because I have lots of friends and have fun during the break we get. We share our meals and sometimes even spend time doing artwork,” she said whose typical day starts by getting ready for school, having her breakfast, going to school, and learning new things.

“Once at home, I ensure that I complete my work for the day and revise what has already been in the class for the day. This helps me when it is time for the tests. The day ends with spending time with my family, sharing the events of the day, and going to bed early,” Tanushka added.

It is her parents who help her with her studies, she shared. “They help me to study and complete my homework. They sit with me and this makes it easy for me to grasp things easily when they explain things,” she said who also loves to dance, listen to music, and read books, especially about a hungry caterpillar who keeps eating before turning into a beautiful butterfly. The motto of the story is to have patience.

She also said that her favourite character is Rapunzel because she is kind and brave. “My ideals are my mother and father. They are always there for me and guide me on the right path when I make a mistake. I also love all my teachers. They are always there to help and guide me. They also work hard so that we can get good marks in the class. While all the teachers are very good, my favourite is Ms Shikha Gautam ma’am because she reads out the best stories and helps us to study well,” Tanushka said in conclusion.
