Chahat Arora pursued a B Com Honours at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) in Jalandhar. She is now using that knowledge gained to boost her career in the field of management education. In a quick interview, the MBA aspirant mentions what makes management the ideal choice for her.
Read edited excerpts:
As an MBA aspirant, tell us about your preparation routine, hours of study and targets?
My main focus is to clear the CAT exam which will be held in November. As everyone is aware that this exam is highly competitive and very tough to crack. Hence, I am taking coaching for it and am working very hard. I study for about 6 hours a day. My target is to cover all the topics quickly so that I have enough time to revise and solve practice questions.
That seems rigorous! How did your course at ACFA benefit you?
I pursued Bachelors of Commerce from ACFA. The topics I studied as part of my course are still helping me for my CAT exam. Studying commerce was a great decision. It was a step forward in the right direction, as all that knowledge formed my base, which is helping me at present.

Why did you choose management as a career?
I choose management because I think I am an extrovert and good at public relations. Moreover, I was always fascinated by corporate life. So, I feel that with my skill set this will be the ideal profession for me, helping me utilise my skills to the fullest
What life lessons did you learn at ACFA?
I learned that one must work as if everything depends on work and pray as if everything depends on the prayer. This saying kept me focused and motivated.
Future targets?
Well, I aspire to clear my exam with excellent results and get into the best management institute in India. That is my sole aim, only target as of now. But I know that in the near future, corporate life awaits me and I want to be part of multinational organisations as well as work on big projects.
