Recently, Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, organised its Inter-house Debate Competition, providing students with an engaging platform to showcase their public speaking abilities, articulate diverse perspectives, and strengthen their critical thinking skills. The intellectually stimulating event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing all four houses, who impressed the audience with their confidence, eloquence, and well-researched arguments.
The competition featured a range of contemporary and thought-provoking topics that encouraged participants to analyse pressing issues from multiple viewpoints. Debaters presented compelling arguments on Is OpenAI Changing Education for the Better?, discussing the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence in classrooms and its impact on teaching and learning.
Another engaging topic, Should E-sports Be Considered Real Sports?, sparked lively discussions on the evolving definition of sportsmanship, competition, and digital athleticism. Participants also reflected on ethical and societal values while debating Destroying Legacy is a Moral Deprivation, presenting persuasive viewpoints supported by logical reasoning and relevant examples.
One of the highlights of the event was the rebuttal round, where participants demonstrated quick thinking, confidence, and the ability to respond effectively to opposing arguments. The round tested not only their knowledge of the subject but also their presence of mind, analytical abilities, and communication skills, making the competition both challenging and intellectually enriching.

After careful evaluation by the judges, Aarav Sudan of Nanak House secured the first position for his articulate presentation and convincing arguments. Aryahi Chatterjee of Gautam House earned the second position, while Samarth Agarwal of Kabir House claimed the third position for his thoughtful insights and effective delivery.
The event concluded on a high note, celebrating the spirit of healthy competition and intellectual curiosity. Beyond recognising individual excellence, the competition reinforced the importance of informed discussion, respectful disagreement, and confident self-expression.
By encouraging students to engage with contemporary issues and think critically, the Inter-house Debate Competition once again reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing articulate, informed, and responsible future leaders through meaningful co-curricular experiences.
