Kaashvi is a Primary-Years-Programme I student at Apeejay School International (ASI) – South Delhi. Her mother Ms Tanvi Sacheti is a homemaker and father, Mr Namit Sacheti, is a self-employed Chartered Accountant.

The six-year-old keen learner loves to try her hands on new things. Her mother, Ms Sacheti, shares that as she returns from school each day, Kaashvi discusses what she learned that day in the school. Moreover, she is an avid reader and her favourite subjects are Mathematics and English. In the following interview, the mother shares the experience of enrolling her daughter to Apeejay. Read on, edited excerpts from the interview:

Why did you pick Apeejay for your daughter?

Well, I did my schooling in Rajasthan and was not really sure about how it works in Delhi. So, while deciding for Kaashvi, a few of our friends recommended Apeejay. Then I found out the nearest school in the vicinity which followed an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Eventually, I visited the branch and found it suitable for my daughter.

Tell us more about your first visit to the school.

I admired the facilities and infrastructure that the institution makes available for its students. It was apt and wonderful!

Any special reasons for going with IB?

In my view, IB is simply the future. What I like about it is the uniqueness it offers. Apeejay has managed the inter-personal interaction very well and the school has also ensured that each child is given personal attention. I am happy about it!

In addition to this, the teachers are always available for parents. One can share their thoughts and apprehensions openly with them. The educators understand us (parents) well. Moreover, they deliver their best and are extremely encouraging of children. I am always updated about Kaashvi’s progress in the school.

Do you help her with the school lessons?

I don’t have to. She is self-driven. I just tell her to ensure that she reads and writes regularly. Her learning and overall development is well taken care of by the school.

Any moral values that you stress on at home?

I feel that a child learns these values best from his/her grandparents. It somehow becomes limiting in nuclear families. I hope that Kaashvi spends quality time with her maternal and paternal grandparents. It is important for her.

The last event you attended in the school?

I was part of the ‘Cultural Cosmos’ fiesta held in the school. It was enriching to see how young learners gathered to share their knowledge about different languages and cultures. The plus is that Kaashvi has friends from other nationalities too in the school. I feel that she must learn from them since this kind of exposure will help her in the future.

Would you recommend the school to other parents?

Absolutely. Kaashvi also studied at Rhythms Kinderworld School in Greater Kailash prior to this, another school which comes under the aegis of Apeejay Education. I am very satisfied with her progress. Rhythms taught her well enough and it became easy for her to further adjust to a full-fledged school. The institution set benchmarks and expectations for me as a parent which ASI is now meeting.
