Voter’s Day holds immense importance in the country. The day also commemorates the foundation of the Election Commission on January 25, 1950. National Voter’s Day emphasises the significance of democratic values and encourages voter participation, fostering awareness about electoral processes. It serves as a reminder of citizens’ crucial role in shaping the nation’s future through responsible and informed voting.
Hence, marking the importance of this day, the Literary & Dramatics Cell of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus in Jalandhar organised a celebration with great enthusiasm. The 14th National Voters’ Day was themed “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure”, which was a continuation from last year’s theme.

Celebrating the occasion, the students took a pledge that as the citizens of India they would always uphold the democratic traditions of the country and the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections. They further pledged to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language, or any inducement.
Similarly, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC, alongwith the faculty members took the e-voter’s pledge and vowed to cast their votes without any prejudice. Dr. Bagga emphaised, “Voting is not just our right but is also our duty. As citizens of the biggest democracy in the world, it is our responsibility to choose honest and ethical leaders. Our vote is our voice, and we must make it heard.” He further advised that as citizens of this nation, we should be aware about the history of our country, the best practices being followed in ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary periods in India.
