Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has launched the EdCIL Vidyanjali Scholarship Programme, underscoring its alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This initiative reflects a holistic societal endeavour to enhance educational access, particularly for economically disadvantaged students.

The Minister praised the achievements of NVS students, emphasising that around 14,000 individuals secured admissions to prestigious institutes like IITs and NITs without resorting to coaching centers. Notably, a significant number of these students come from marginalised backgrounds.

During the launch, Minister Pradhan announced that 70 students would be awarded scholarships totaling Rs 5 crore. He stressed the importance of collective participation in nation-building, acknowledging the commendable support from corporate entities in sponsoring academically talented students facing financial constraints.

The EdCIL Vidyanjali Scholarship Programme stands as a formidable force aligned with the NEP 2020, aimed at transforming opportunities for quality education and facilitating access to higher education institutions. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable education, ensuring that economic constraints do not impede the educational aspirations of deserving students. Minister Pradhan’s recognition of the achievements of students from marginalized backgrounds underscores the program’s role in empowering those who might face systemic barriers in pursuing higher education.

The scholarships awarded to 70 students symbolise tangible support for academic excellence, contributing to the broader vision of building a knowledge-driven and inclusive society. As the program unfolds, it is poised to make a substantial impact on the educational landscape, demonstrating the government’s dedication to creating a conducive environment for learning and growth for every aspiring student, irrespective of their economic background.
