The alphabet animal mashup at Apeejay School, Tanda Road, helped nursery children build vocabulary through joyful learning

The nursery students of Apeejay School, Tanda Road, stepped into a world where alphabets came alive with animals. The Alphabet Animal Mashup activity gave children an exciting opportunity to connect letters with animal names, creating a strong foundation for early literacy.

The event was designed to blend fun with knowledge. Children matched letters to animals and playfully expanded their vocabulary. This interactive approach ensured that learning felt natural and enjoyable. Instead of memorising, the little ones discovered words by linking them to visuals they could easily recognise. Bright flashcards, lively rhymes, and cheerful participation made the classroom a vibrant space of learning.

Building confidence and curiosity

Activities like these help children gain confidence in expressing themselves. By speaking out the animal names, repeating the sounds, and interacting with peers, they practised communication skills in a stress-free environment. The friendly setup encouraged every child to take part without hesitation. Curiosity was at the heart of the activity — students were encouraged to ask questions, notice details, and make connections between letters and the world around them. Teachers observed that children showed eagerness to identify new animals and even shared their own stories linked to them.

Planting the seeds of lifelong learning

Early exposure to such methods plays a vital role in shaping a child’s relationship with language. When children enjoy the process of learning, they are more likely to carry that enthusiasm forward. The Alphabet Animal Mashup was not just about letters and sounds; it was about sparking a love for discovery, which is the true goal of education.

The laughter, energy, and excitement that filled the classroom highlighted one simple truth: learning is most powerful when it feels like play.
