With a total number of 113 students (31.17%) of the batch securing 90% or above in the CBSE Class 12 Board examinations, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg has displayed exemplary results this year.

The top four students across streams, Risheek Goel, Satyam Sharma, Aaliah Janeja and Purab Jain share insights on how to prepare for the Class 12 Board examinations.

An aspiring doctor, Science (medical) topper Risheek Goel ensured going through the immediate syllabus from the NCERT books first. Goel scored 96% and 99% respectively in his favorite subjects Biology and Chemistry. Now, he is looking to crack the NEET exam in September this year. “My advice to medical aspirants for CBSE exams is not to indulge in the more difficult concepts first, and try to stick to the basics.”

Science (non-medical) topper Satyam Sharma focused on the JEE Main exams first, and then began preparing for Class 12 Board exams during the mid-terms in August. “I thoroughly studied NCERT books and revised the concepts. I used to practice from my coaching material and the notes provided by the school,” he says. Scoring 99% in Mathematics, he practiced the subject every day, pairing it with one other subject of his choice. Post his result, Sharma wishes to pursue Computer Science Engineering from a private university.

Commerce topper Aaliah Janeja began preparing for her Boards at the start of the session. She had completed the Economics syllabus in May, and Mathematics and Accountancy syllabi simultaneously in July. Spending the rest of the year only revising, she relates having an upper hand against her classmates owing to her strategy of early preparation. “When my classmates were starting with sample papers, I was already done with more than 2-3 sample test books. I spent the last 2-3 months before the Board exams, only taking mock tests.” Janeja aims to pursue Bachelors (B.A.) in Economics from Delhi University, and further hopes to pursue an MBA to seek a job as an investment banker. She says, “Apeejay has played a significant role in building my personality.”

Purab Jain, who scored the second-highest grades in Commerce at the schoolstudied according to his own targets, completing a chapter in one or two days. He feels that one should study a little of each subject every day, and consistently be in touch with all subjects. “I would advise fellow students who would be appearing for their exams that they should not panic and be prepared in advance. If you know the concepts, there is nothing to worry,” says Jain. He scored 99% each in Economics and Accountancy, and dreams of becoming one of the most successful entrepreneurs in India. “I will try to get into the University of Delhi and further work towards my own financial venture,” he says.

“Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar has long been known for its stupendous results in the CBSE examinations. This year, the results have scaled to greater heights and created new benchmarks. I congratulate all students, parents and staff on such great results and hope to continue to strive for further excellence, by raising the bar.”
