The long-awaited Hindi Sambhashan Pratiyogita was organised for the energetic and lively class V students at Apeejay School, Noida. The competition aimed to ensure that the students attained an even greater sense of appreciation for the arts within educational institutes like Apeejay. Held on August 21, 2024, this competition was not held for assessment or evaluation of the oratory skills in children but aimed more toward instilling in them the confidence and charisma that is required to be a great public speaker.
The preliminary round was conducted in the respective sections of class V, where children enthusiastically spoke on the topic, Shiksha mein Sangeet tatha Anye Kalaoon ka Mahatva. Later, the five accomplished speakers in each section came out as finalists for the final round, putting forward impressive arguments as to why arts should find a place in the curriculum.
Judgement and Appreciation

A team of highly esteemed educators, Ms Deepali Priyanka and Ms Smita Abrol were the judges of the contest, evaluating the participants on parameters such as content, confidence, clarity, and voice modulation. Mrs Smriti Samuel, In-charge of the Primary Section, appreciated the efforts put up by all participants and motivated them to continue keeping the arts a part of their daily learning process. She mentioned that such activities help in promoting Hindi, which is the mother tongue of India.
Results and Recognition
The competition culminated with Vedant Verma of class V-E emerging as the coveted ‘Overall First’. The young man presented himself with great poise and command over the subject. The ‘Overall Second’ position was shared between Pramanshi Pal and Anshita Upadhyay of class V-C, who left the judges in awe with confident and well-structured presentations.
There were special accolades titled ‘Best in Class’ for students excelling in each section: Medha Dhawan – class V-A; Samridhi Jain – class V B; Atishi Bansal – class V C; Shourya Vohra – class V D; and Paarth – class V E.

The Hindi Sambhashan Pratiyogita provided a platform not only to bring out the young orator in the children but also acted as a catalyst in developing their overall literacy skills. This is more than what such an event can accomplish, grooming these minds for multifarious tasks that lie ahead of them in life.
Overall, the event proved the concept of Apeejay School, which has always advocated an all-round education. The success of the event conveyed a very important message to one and all present — that art is not dispensable for the all-round educational growth of a child; on the other hand, it is also used to celebrate linguistic skills.
