Read edited excerpts:
How does it feel to be recognised with the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values?
This award means a lot to me because it reflects my entire journey as an Apeejay student. From the day I joined, I’ve been learning lessons that go beyond academics — lessons about empathy, courage, and doing what’s right. Every experience here has shaped who I am today.
How do you define leadership and how do you practise it in school?
For me, leadership means looking out for everyone and doing what’s right, even when it’s not easy. I always try to take everyone’s ideas into account and ensure that our collective decisions benefit all. I believe that treating classmates and juniors with kindness inspires them to do the same for others.
Can you share a memorable experience that helped you understand the power of human values?
Yes, during my first Model United Nations (MUN) debate, there was a sixth grader in my committee. He was shy and hesitant at first, especially since the topic was complex and the other participants were older. I decided to mentor him throughout the debate. Gradually, he gained confidence and began sharing his views courageously. That experience taught me that age is just a number — what truly matters is self-belief and courage.
What human value do you think students sometimes overlook?
I think many students forget the importance of being true to oneself. Peer pressure can make us lose sight of who we are. But inner peace and honesty are far more important than trying to fit into any standard.
Who has been your biggest inspiration?
Our Founder Chairman, Late Dr Stya Paul sir, inspires me deeply. His life of resilience and wisdom motivates me to carry forward his legacy by applying his principles in my own life. My teachers, too, have guided me constantly and shaped my moral and academic journey.
