Giddha, bhangra and smiles galore in Punjab school

Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar in Punjab echoed with the jubilant sounds of Punjabi culture as it celebrated the much-anticipated Teej-Teeyan Da Mela. The occasion turned into a joyous family affair as mothers of Apeejayites were warmly invited to the school to partake in the festivities. The event witnessed the presence of the esteemed RJ Garry and the talented dance choreographer Ms Navpreet Kaur, adding an extra dose of exuberance to the celebrations.

Giddha and Bhangra Rhythms:

The air was filled with laughter and joy as kids and their mothers took to the stage to showcase their flair for traditional Punjabi dance forms, giddha, and bhangra. The vibrant beats of Punjabi songs infused the event with an irresistible energy, bringing smiles to every face in the audience. It was heartening to see the seamless bond between the mothers and their children as they danced together, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Delectable Delights:

The celebrations also catered to the taste buds, with a sumptuous spread of traditional desserts. Malpua, a mouth-watering sweet delicacy, and creamy kheer delighted the guests, leaving them wanting for more. The event also featured a dessert stall by the renowned bake studio, Cake O’ Clock, owned by the talented Lekhika Bhatia. The indulgent treats at the stall were a big hit among all attendees.

Eminent Guests:

Mr Malkiat Singh, Principal of Apeejay School, Model Town graced the occasion. He was accompanied by the Headmistress of the Primary section, Ms Namrata Sharma and Headmistress of the Pre-Primary section, Ms Nidhi Ghai. Together with the dedicated teachers, they added to the joyous atmosphere and made the event even more memorable.

Speaking about the celebrations, Mr Malkiat Singh said, “Teej-Teeyan Da Mela is not just a festival; it’s a reflection of our rich cultural heritage. Seeing the children and their mothers come together and celebrate with such enthusiasm warms our hearts. We believe in fostering a sense of community, and this event perfectly embodies that spirit.”
